I had lunch there and I was so surprised on how good these carnitas tacos were I highly recommend this spot. It was super clean. The cashier there was nice. The tacos weren't greasy like other places. I will be going back there.

Owners and staff are extremely polite and attentive. I drove 30 mins to come here and the food was worth it! The carnitas were soft, well seasoned and most importantly not salty! My family loved the cueritos. Definitely recommend this place!

I got a referral from a friend who visited the restaurant a month ago and said the carnitas were very good. I had to try for a small gathering Saturday 2/10/23. The food was a hit, everyone enjoyed their tacos. Meat was moist and Cueritos were so tasty. I also got a green salsa container but the escabeche made here was better.
Located off of 1st st in Santa Ana, carnitas son Julian offers ...... you guessed it, Carnitas!!! This was a Yelp find as I was in the area working and became hangry!!! To be honest I didn't really know how to order carnitas and the people working were super friendly and explained to me. You can order the food depending on how fatty you want the meat-- so I ended ordering the leanest carnitas, and a 1lb is plenty for two people to eat. I thought I could handle hot salsa-- nope. They make various salsas that while delicious they definitely are HOT. I definitely recommend giving CDJ a chance, let's support this restaurant!!!! :) 3/2023
A hidden Gem! Lucky to say I have been following Don Julian's success since he started in his home to his now established business... A cut above the rest, the tenderness and the juiciness of these flavorful carnitas is what sets Don Julian's from everyone else. Nothing better than the cueritos as a taco alongside the home made authentic salsas . The salsa borracha pairs perfectly! I have not tasted any better carnitas. Love coming here as it still a family operated business,the service is incredible by the husband,wife and sons. A true hidden gem! Gracias don Julian!
